Installing HD Loader should take only a couple minutes at most. Following our simple three steps will get you gaming in no time.
The HD Loader kit is extremely simple to setup, if you were able to plug your console into your TV you won't have a problem. The HD Loader kit consists of the Software Disc, Network Adaptor and Hard Disk Drive. You can use multiple hard drives to store more games.
Remove the EXT cover on the back of your console. This reveals the bay which the hard drive will be installed in. You should remove any dust that has built up over time in this bay. Keep the bay cover in a safe place in case you need to remove the kit in the future.
Unpack the hard drive and network adaptor, be careful when handling the HDD. Check the jumper settings are correct, they should be set to master. Plug the HDD into the network adaptor, the IDE and power plugs on the network adaptor are able to move slightly to allow for variations in hard disk designs.
Carefully slide the HDD and network adaptor into the console's rear bay, hard disk first. Some hard drives may be a more difficult fit. If you are using your own hard drive, you may wish to check our HDD compatibility list to see if your model is not compatible.
To store additional games you may wish to use multiple hard drives. This can save you money by not having to purchase a large hard disk. Also since the console has a low-level HDD capacity limit of ~137GB those people who own a lot of games will have no choice regardless of their HDD size.
Remove the network adaptor with the hard drive attached from the console's bay. Unplug the HDD from the network adaptor and carefully store the HDD away. Unpack the HDD to be installed and carefully plug it into the network adaptor. If this is the first time you have used the drive in the console, check its jumper settings.
We recommend removing the kit if you are transporting the console to minimize the chance of the HDD being damaged.
Remove the network adaptor with the hard drive attached from the console's bay. Unplug the HDD from the network adaptor and return the items to their original packaging. Insert the bay cover back onto the console.
